As one of the oldest novels continuously in print, Little Women is likely familiar to many of you, so the question I wrestled with from my very first read of the script was: How do we bring something fresh to a story audiences already know so well?

At first glance, it is the perfect choice for a college production with its abundant roles for women, rich featured characters and ensemble roles, and timeless family story. But from our very first rehearsal, I realized this musical was far more than a practical fit. There is a reason generations of readers have found themselves in the March sisters. These intelligent actors quickly recognized how each sister reflects a different facet of Marmee: her compassion, strength, selflessness, and fiery spirit. Those discoveries became the foundation of our process and my vision for this production.

I imagined Jo perched in her attic, piecing together the memories of her life like a puzzle, each one helping her discover her identity and ultimately leading her to her greatest success. As that concept was brought to life by our incredible creative team and cast, I found myself living it. For this production, I had the privilege of sitting across the rehearsal room from my own mother, our music director. And, just as Jo finds purpose through her family, I have found my love of theater through mine.

Whether this is your first visit to Louisa May Alcott's world or your fiftieth, I hope you'll leave reminded that the moments and people who shape us become part of the stories we carry forward.

Claudia Hammes (Amy March, Dance Captain) is a Junior BFA Musical Theatre student with a Dance and a Digital Marketing minor. At FAU she has performed in: Memento with the Jerusalem Ballet Company- Flower Girl, Tempest- US: Ariels, Stephano, Boatswain, Sebastian, Antonio Tartuffe- Flipote (Understudy Mariane+Madame Pernelle), The Possibilities- Various Roles, FAU Opera In Italy, and the Assistant Choreographer- Firebringer. Other roles include: Little Sally/Urinetown, Ermengarde/Hello Dolly!, Sarah/Company, and Sara/The Theory of Relativity.

Sadie Corley+ (Meg March) is thrilled to be performing in her final show here at FAU before graduating this August with her MFA in Performance. Sadie Scardino (Beth March, U/S Jo) FAU Credits: The Frankenstein Project (Fredricka Jones), Repertory Dance Theatre Ensemble (Choreographer & Dancer), By Any Other Name (Rosalind), Dances We Dance 2026 ( Choreographer & Dancer), and The FAU Musical Theatre Vocal Ensemble. Sadie is originally from Naples, Florida then moved here for school. When she's not on stage you can find her at a random coffee shop or at Spanish River Church worshiping and serving the Lord. She is so blessed and happy to have had the chance to work with such an amazing cast and crew for this show and hope you can see how much love and hard work we all put into it. Farentino Lennox (Laurie Laurence) ��is so grateful to be a part of this production of Little Women as Laurie Laurence, making it his third show at FAU. As a transfer student from Florida School of the Arts, he has also played roles such as Frank’n’furter (Rocky Horror Picture Show), Shakespeare (Something Rotten), Benny Southstreet (Guys and Dolls) and Agatha Trunchbull (Matilda Jr.) and hopes to continue growing during his time here as he prepares to go out into the world. Christian Ramos (Asst. Stage Manager) is a BFA Design and Technology major going into his third year at FAU. In his time here, he was worked on four FAU productions; The Tempest (Stage Manager), Freaky Friday (Props Crew), Rumors (Assistant Stage Manager) and 1776: The Musical (Props Crew) as well as Stage Managing readings for the last two Owl New Play Festivals. Roselene Dufresne (Light Board Operator) is a sophomore BA Theatre major from Lauderhill and is thrilled to be a part of another production at FAU. This will be her eighth mainstage production at FAU. She has worked on multiple productions as run/props crew, follow spot, deck supervisor, ASM, and now she’s light board op! ��She was also ASM for the BUTC’s production of Evermore High and recently elected as the club’s Technical Director.
