The FAU College of Business's largest study abroad program returns for its 4th year! Students will gain invaluable work experience in an international setting. Students will earn up to 12-credits toward their degree by taking 1 management course, 1 marketing course, and an optional 3-credit internship with a company in Spain, as well as optional "study abroad" credits. These are FAU courses taught in English by FAU faculty at the University of Seville. Students will be immersed in the Spanish culture by living with a Spanish family, participating in activities, and excursions.Ìý

- MAN 4720 Global Strategy and Policy (3 credits) - primary course
- MAR 4156 International Marketing (3 credits) - primary course

Course Eligibility & Requirements:
Students can take anywhere from 6-12 credits. Your exact schedule will be determined later in consultation with Kim Paulus in the College of Business. Students participating in the program will take one marketing class and one management class. These classes will run Monday - Thursday afternoons from about 3-5pm. MAN4720 and MAR 4156 are the primary courses. If these classes do not work for you or if you have already taken those courses, you can take them as MAN4957 & MAR4957 (Management study abroad / Marketing study abroad). Speak with Kim Paulus in College of Business Student Academic Services about your particular situation.Ìý
Additionally, the 3 credit GEB 4956 internship is optional and available to all ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä, regardless of Spanish language skill. The internship will run Monday - Thursday mornings from about 9:30-1pm. Internships will be tailored to your preferences, skills, and language ability. Some ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä will work individually at company offices, others will work in a team offsite and occasionally go into company offices. After joining this program, we will schedule a Zoom meeting with you to discuss your particular preferences and abilities. Ìý

Routine processing times can take 6-8 weeks, and expedited applications in 2-3 weeks. Processing times begin when your application is received by a passport agency or center, and do not include mailing times. It may take up to 2 weeks for your application to be received by passport agency, and up to 2 weeks for you to receive your completed passport after agency mails it to you. Therefore, you should add an additional 4 weeks to you passport application processing time.Ìý

- Overall GPA ofÌý 2.5 overall GPA at the time of application
- Must be in good academic standing at the time of application
- Must be eligible to take FAU courses during the study abroad program term

Location
Seville is the capital and largest city of the Spanish autonomous community of Andalusia and the province of Seville. It is situated on the lower reaches of the River Guadalquivir, in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula. The city is famous for its flamenco dancing and architectural designs.Ìý
Housing
Home-stay with a Spanish family. Students will share a room with another FAU student. Bathrooms will be shared. Meals, laundry service, basic utilities, and WIFI access included. Housing assignments are communicated prior to arrival and are designed to match the needs and expectations of each program participant.Ìý

ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä fee: $6,480 + tuition for the courses associated/required for the programÌý
ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä fee payment deadlines:
1ST PAYMENT: Ìý Ìý Ìý $2,160 due 20 days from application acceptance or by February 2 (whichever comes first)
2ND PAYMENT: Ìý Ìý Ìý$2,160 due 60 days from application acceptance or by February 16 (whichever comes first)
3RD PAYMENT: Ìý Ìý Ìý$2,160 final balance due by March 10
Accepted participants will receive detailed payment instructions from the Education Abroad team via email after application deadline.Ìý

HEALTH, SAFETY AND TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION
All ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä must attend pre-departure sessions prior to study abroad. Education Abroad and your program faculty leaders will provide you with further details pertaining to dates, times, and location in the semester before your program.Ìý
1) Mandatory pre-departure orientation hosted by the Education Abroad office. This session will cover general international travel related topics such as health, safety, insurance, and travel tips.Ìý
2) Mandatory pre-departure meeting hosted by program faculty leader. This session will cover program and location specific information such as arrival, expectations, itinerary, and course overview.
International health and travel insurance
All FAU ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä participating on an FAU Faculty-led ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä will be registered in international health and travel insurance coverage through Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI). This mandatory insurance ensures that ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä have access to medical and emergency support services while abroad. This is included in the program cost.

- Reduced risk of denied entry if a country requires vaccination for entry
- Reduced risk of having to get vaccinated abroad if it becomes mandatory in the country of study

Regarding increased access because of being vaccinated, please be aware that businesses and services may legally restrict access to exclude unvaccinated individuals. Local ordinances may allow the same. In such cases, FAU won’t be able to intervene or advocate on your behalf.
