NGP ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä Overview

The hallmark of FAU's Ph.D. Neuroscience Graduate ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä is breadth. The curriculum encourages ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä to sample multiple, distinct thematic areas during their first-year, while also accommodating the more experienced student with a deeper dive into specific areas.

During the first year, ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä have the opportunity to rotate in neuroscience laboratories while pursuing a common core curriculum and attending research seminars. After these rotations, ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä make a final choice to join the laboratory in which they will pursue their dissertation work. We encourage you to learn about the NGP program faculty and their research.

There are also ample opportunities for ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä to engage in community outreach and professional development activities with program faculty and the FAU Neuroscience Student Organization (NSO). All ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä receive nationally competitive stipends ($35,000) for the academic year, with guaranteed research and teaching assistantships, FAU Graduate Student Health Insurance Plan coverage, and opportunities to compete for research and travel grants. Admitted ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä who join the NSO receive a complimentary membership in the Society for Neuroscience.
